👤 Who is this for?

Anyone who wants a personal, private way to save their journey across the Eight evolutionary domains — with a visual token (your Seal) image and a growing record of section insights. My Codex is an optional way to save and view your private journal/saved items from TheGymMouse.Life© site. You can still use the site freely without a My Codex Key.

📜 What is My Codex?

My Codex is a simple page that reads your personal “Codex Key” (.json) file to show your Seal image and your saved entries (insights, notes, scrolls, runes, artefacts etc). You can add new insights and then download an updated Codex Key (.json) — keeping your journey file completely under your control.

Key idea: The site never stores your data on our servers. Your Codex Key .json file is yours.
✨ Why use it?
  • Privacy-first: Your data lives in a file you hold, your Codex Key (.json).
  • Portability: Move your journey between devices by uploading the same saved Codex Key (.json).
⚙️ How does it work?

My Codex uses a small client-side toolkit that will:

  • Load your Codex Key .json file.
  • Show your Seal image in the Seal Forge Viewer.
  • Append new entries (e.g. insights) in a safe, timestamped way.
  • Download an updated Codex Key .json and optional image (.png) of your Seal.

Everything happens in your browser — nothing is uploaded to our servers.

💾 Where is my data stored?

In your own .json file (“Codex Key”). You keep it on your device, your preferred cloud drive, or storage device. When you revisit, simply upload the same Codex Key file (.json) to continue your journey.

Tip: After adding insights or edits, always click “Download Codex Key”. This saves your latest changes to a new Codex Key .json.
❓ Common questions

Do I need to use My Codex?

No. You can still use the site freely. My Codex is an optional way to save and view your private journal/saved items from TheGymMouse.Life© site.

Does my data ever leave my device?

No. All processing happens in your browser. We don’t store or transmit your Codex key.

What’s inside the Codex Key (.json) file?

A human-readable JSON object: your Seal settings (inscriptions, symbol, palette, pattern), a short ID, timestamps, and lists for things like saved insights.

What if I change my Seal in the Forge?

Your Seal image will update accordingly. Download a new Codex Key (.json) to save changes.

🛠️ Troubleshooting
  • “Invalid JSON” on upload: Ensure the file ends with .json and looks like { "key": "value" }. If you edited it, check commas and quotes. If in doubt, export a fresh Codex key (.json) from Forge.
  • Changes not showing: Do a hard refresh (Ctrl/Cmd-Shift-R) — your browser may be caching assets.
  • Nothing happens on buttons: Check JavaScript is enabled in your browser.
Still stuck? Try forging a fresh Codex Key in the Seal Forge Viewer on the My Codex page.
